WHAT IS ANIMAL TESTING ?

To develop and test various drugs, animals are usually subjected to very harmful tests in the laboratory. 

Through these tests, animals are exposed to harmful radiations and gases. They’re also injected harmful chemicals. Another alarming situation is that animals are often trafficked for the purpose of animal testing, where they are forced to leave their natural habitat and live in laboratories.

IS ANIMAL TESTING NECESSARY ? Absolutely not. Most animal testing are done by multi-million dollar companies which focuses on profit rather than ethics and moral. Countries like China require mandatory animal testing on foreign goods. Therefore, to improve their sales, these companies perform animal testing stating these Requirements. 

In today's world, there are alternative methods like Cell culture and more realistic ways to test drugs.  To find more about the various alternatives to animal testing, click here. The good news is that in the UK, animal testing have been banned since 1997! but some of the British popular brands are still funding test on animals.  WHAT CAN WE DO ? • Look for cruelty-free products. An easy way to do this is to to check if they carry the cruelty free logos !
